Where is Deliverance?

I saw a cartoon in a magazine a long time ago.  It was a picture of a guy pulled over to the side of the road. Clearly something had broken.  The hood on the car was up and the guy was looking at what supposed to be the engine.  Instead, there was a big on/off switch.  The caption was, “Oh!  I just have to turn the switch back on and I’ll be up and running.  Of course, nothing is ever that easy when a car breaks down, is it?

It used to be that I could recognize cycles of pain and hurt and despair in my life.  It felt like the same would happen to me over and over again.  I would get just so successful and then…crash and burn.  I often asked the Lord, “Where is deliverance?”

Have you ever asked that question?  “Where is deliverance?”  When will I ever be set free?”

In order to believe there is deliverance from the problems you and I encounter in our daily lives, we have to establish a scriptural basis on which to build that belief.  When we can establish both the basis for belief, and the starting point for implementing the plan we will be able to answer the question, “Where is deliverance?”

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).

My starting point..Your starting point is the truth.  What is the truth about your circumstance?

Thank you.  God bless you - on your journey today!
