Do You Have the Vocabulary to Worship God?

Why is it important to establish your connection with God by worshipping Him?  Worship is ascribing worth to God.  It is derived from a combo word, worth-ship.

When you ascribe “worth-ship” to God you tell Him that you believe He is great, He is worthy of your praise.  You tell Him that you are willing to give Him glory for everything He has done.

I had a chance to participate in amazing corporate worship when I was a teenager.  I knew/know the songs to sing I knew/know how to participate in worship with a group of believers.

But, when I determined that I wanted to establish a personal worship connection with God, I didn’t know what to do.  I didn’t know what to say.  I didn’t know how to act.

All I could do was to say, “Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord.”  I said it over and over again, because once I made the decision that I was going to worship God, I was committed.

You can see that I had no words to worship God.  I had no vocabulary.

Do you have words to worship God with?  Do you have a vocabulary of worship?

Take just a minute or two right now to write down words - words and phrases that describe God, that describe who He is. And then use that list to begin to worship Him!
